Thrifty v. Steiner

Thrifty v. Steiner

Jointly retained by both the Plaintiff and the Defendant in this matter, Barry E. Mukamal’s engagement involved the valuation of certain restricted stock that had been transferred by insiders of a publicly traded company.  In his analysis, Mukamal was required to quantify discounts resulting from the stock’s restrictive attributes, its size, Rule 144 constraints, and relative illiquidity due to thin trading in the marketplace.  Mukamal’s analysis and participation assisted the parties in reaching a settlement, obviating the need for trial.
