Jason Charles



Jason Charles is a Trustee Assistant to Soneet R. Kapila, Chapter 7 Federal Bankruptcy Trustee in the Southern District of Florida and joined the firm in 2024 after 15 years of experience as a paralegal in various law offices.

Professional Experience

Jason assists with the administration of the Trustee’s Chapter 7 cases with special emphasis on and adherence to the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and the United States Trustee’s guidelines.  His responsibilities include receipt of and assembling documents and other information submitted to the Trustee’s office by the Debtor(s); preparation for and attending the virtual 341 meetings of Creditors and submitting required post-341 documentation and reporting for both asset and no-asset cases.  Jason assists with the Trustee’s financial reporting and record keeping, identifying and marshaling assets, marketing and sale of real estate, vehicles and other case assets and preparing and filing pleadings with the Court.

Jason reviews and investigates the Debtor’s pre-petition financial transactions, related party transactions and conveyances and investigates undisclosed assets.  He liases with outside legal counsel relating to complex case administration.  Jason also assists with the Trustee’s required quarterly financial reporting and case closings.
